Membership Terms & Conditions
Version 1.1 · Last updated: July 2026
The short version. You are joining a venue that has not opened yet. You will not be charged anything until 16 August 2026. You can cancel free of charge at any point up to 30 August 2026, which is fourteen days after we open, and get a full refund. After that, monthly memberships can be cancelled any time and run to the end of the month you have paid for, and annual memberships run for twelve months. You can cancel yourself at any time in the membership portal. This summary is for convenience only, the full terms below are what applies.
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions govern your membership of Padelsphere. They form a legally binding contract between you and Padelsphere Ltd from the moment your membership is confirmed. Please read them carefully and keep a copy. You confirmed your acceptance of them when you completed checkout.
These membership terms apply in addition to our Website Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policy. Where these membership terms conflict with the Website Terms & Conditions in relation to your membership, these membership terms take priority.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If any term here gives you less than the law entitles you to, the law applies.
2. Who we are
Padelsphere Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16008755, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, and VAT number 511 8304 26.
We trade from Unit F, Progressive Court, 6 Spencer Road, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 5TG (the Venue). You can contact us at [email protected], and that is the address to use for any formal notice under these terms, including cancellation.
3. Definitions
- Membership Year means, for annual members, the twelve month period beginning on your Start Date and each subsequent twelve month period.
- Membership Month means, for monthly members, the one month period beginning on your Start Date and each subsequent one month period.
- Opening Date means 16 August 2026, or such later date as we notify you of under clause 6.
- Start Date means the date your membership begins and your first payment is taken, being the Opening Date for members who join before we open, or the date of checkout for members who join afterwards.
- Founding Member means a member holding a Founding Membership under clause 13.
- Peak and off-peak hours are as published at the Venue and on our booking platform, and may be varied on reasonable notice.
4. Who can join
Membership is open to individuals aged 18 or over.
Applicants aged 16 or 17 may hold a membership only where a parent or legal guardian countersigns the application. That parent or guardian is jointly and severally liable for all fees and for the member's compliance with these terms. We may ask for proof of age and of the guardian's identity.
Children under 16 cannot hold a membership. They are welcome at the Venue as guests, or in coaching and junior sessions, subject to our supervision requirements. A responsible adult aged 18 or over must remain on the premises at all times while a child under 16 is at the Venue.
Membership is personal to you. It cannot be sold, transferred, shared, gifted or assigned to anyone else, and your access credentials must not be lent or shared. We may suspend or terminate a membership we reasonably believe is being shared.
5. How your membership is formed
Your order is an offer to buy a membership from us. A contract comes into existence when we send you a confirmation email accepting your order, and not before. If we cannot accept your order, for example because Founding Memberships have sold out or we cannot take payment, we will tell you and will not charge you.
We are required to tell you that this is a distance contract concluded online, which gives you cancellation rights set out in clause 10.
Obvious pricing or description errors are not binding on us. If we spot an error before your membership starts, we will contact you to confirm whether you want to continue at the correct price or cancel free of charge.
6. Opening date and first payment
Padelsphere is a pre-launch venue. We intend to open on 16 August 2026. If you join before that date:
- No payment is taken at checkout. Your payment method is stored securely by our payment processor and your first payment is scheduled for the Opening Date.
- Your membership benefits begin on the Opening Date, not on the date you sign up.
- Your minimum term, where one applies, runs from the Opening Date.
If the Opening Date is delayed, we will email you as soon as reasonably practicable and your first payment date will move accordingly, so that you are never charged for a period in which the Venue is not open. If the Opening Date is delayed by more than 60 days, or if we decide not to open the Venue at all, you may cancel your membership immediately by emailing us and we will refund in full anything you have paid.
7. Membership tiers and fees
We offer three tiers. Fees at the date of these terms are:
| Tier | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| Purple | £15 per month | £150 per year |
| Black | £30 per month | £300 per year |
| Gold | £50 per month | £500 per year |
All fees are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Annual membership is charged as twelve months for the price of ten, paid in advance in a single payment.
The benefits included in each tier are as described on our Membership page, which forms part of these terms. Membership fees give you the benefits of your tier. They are not a payment for court time. Court bookings, coaching, food, drink and pro shop purchases are charged separately at the rates published from time to time.
You may upgrade your tier at any time, effective immediately, with the difference charged pro rata. You may downgrade with effect from your next Membership Month or Membership Year, by giving us notice before your next billing date. Annual members cannot downgrade mid-year.
8. Billing and payment
Payments are collected by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card details. By joining you authorise us to take recurring payments from your chosen payment method.
Monthly memberships renew automatically each month on the same date, and continue until cancelled under clause 11.
Annual memberships renew automatically each year on the anniversary of your Start Date. We will email you 30 days and again 7 days before each renewal, telling you the amount and the date, and you can cancel at any point before renewal.
If a payment fails, we will retry it and email you. If a payment remains unpaid 14 days after it fell due, we may suspend your access to the Venue until it is settled, and if it remains unpaid after 30 days we may terminate your membership. Suspension does not pause your fees. If we terminate for non-payment, any minimum term commitment for the remainder of the current Membership Year remains due.
We may charge you our reasonable costs of recovering unpaid fees, together with interest on overdue amounts at 4% a year above the Bank of England base rate.
9. Changes to fees
We may change membership fees. We will give you at least 30 days' written notice by email before any increase takes effect.
If you do not accept an increase, you may cancel your membership without penalty by telling us before the increase takes effect, and no minimum term or notice period will apply to that cancellation. For annual members, we will refund the unused balance of your current Membership Year on a pro rata basis.
Founding Members have their rate protected under clause 13.
10. Your right to cancel
Your statutory cooling-off period
Because you bought your membership online, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of the day after the contract is concluded, without giving any reason.
Our extended cooling-off period
We go further than the law requires. If you join before the Opening Date, your cancellation period is extended so that it does not end until 14 days after the Opening Date. For an Opening Date of 16 August 2026, that means you can cancel free of charge at any time up to and including 30 August 2026. You get a full refund of anything you have paid, and you can visit and use the Venue during that period without losing the right to cancel.
If you join on or after the Opening Date, your cancellation period is 14 days from the day after your membership is confirmed.
How to cancel
The quickest way is our membership portal. Enter the email address you joined with, we will send you a secure link, and you can cancel there in a couple of clicks.
You can also email [email protected] with your name and the email address you joined with, or post the form at the end of these terms to our registered office. Any clear statement that you wish to cancel is enough. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient that you send your cancellation before the period expires.
Refunds
We will refund you in full, using the same payment method you used, within 14 days of receiving your cancellation. Where you have used the Venue during the cancellation period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to the point you cancelled, and the value of any items already supplied to you and not returned, including the Official Padelsphere Jersey.
11. Ending your membership
Monthly memberships
There is no minimum term and no notice period. You may cancel at any time through the membership portal or by emailing us.
Your membership then runs to the end of the month you have already paid for, and you keep full access until that date. No further payment is taken. We do not refund part months, so cancelling mid-month does not shorten your access or trigger a partial refund.
Annual memberships
Once your cancellation period under clause 10 has ended, your membership runs for the full twelve months. This commitment exists because annual members pay a reduced rate, twelve months for the price of ten, and receive the Official Padelsphere Jersey.
You may stop an annual membership renewing at the end of the Membership Year at any time before the renewal date, either in the membership portal or by telling us. You keep full access for the remainder of the year you have paid for.
We will end an annual membership early and refund the unused balance pro rata if you can no longer reasonably use the Venue because:
- you suffer a medical condition or injury that prevents you playing for the remainder of the term, supported by written medical evidence,
- you move permanently to an address more than 25 miles from the Venue, supported by reasonable proof, or
- you suffer redundancy or long-term loss of income, supported by reasonable proof.
We may also agree to an early release at our discretion in other genuine cases of hardship. Please just ask.
12. Freezing your membership
If you suffer a serious injury or long-term illness, send us written medical evidence and we will freeze your membership. While frozen, you pay no fees and have no access, and the frozen months are added to the end of your term. Freezes run in whole months, for a minimum of one month and a maximum of six months in any twelve.
Founding Members keep their Founding Member status and rate lock through an agreed freeze, and the rate lock period is extended by the length of the freeze.
13. Founding Membership
What it is
Founding Membership is limited to the first 100 members to join Padelsphere, on any tier. Numbers 001 to 100 are allocated in the order memberships are taken out. Once the hundredth Founding Membership is confirmed, no further Founding Memberships will ever be issued.
What you get
- Your membership rate is locked for two years from your Start Date, provided your membership remains continuously active and in good standing. Clause 9 fee increases do not apply to you during that period.
- A permanent numbered place on the Founders Wall at the Venue, showing your name and photograph.
- Your first session free, covering the court fee only, to be used within three months of the Opening Date.
Your number
Your number is provisional until your cancellation period under clause 10 has expired and your first payment has cleared, which for members joining before opening means 30 August 2026. If you cancel before then, your number is released and reallocated to the next member in line.
Losing Founding status
If your membership lapses, is cancelled by you, or is terminated by us for breach, your rate lock ends and cannot be reinstated, even if you rejoin later. Your place on the Founders Wall remains. Founding Member status is personal to you and cannot be transferred, sold or gifted.
Changing tier
If you upgrade, your locked rate applies to your new tier at the rate that was in force when you became a Founding Member. Downgrading does not affect your Founding Member status or your rate lock.
The Founders Wall
Photographs for the Founders Wall are taken at the Venue and are used only with your express consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us. If you do not wish to appear, or later withdraw consent, we will show your number and name only, or your number only if you prefer. Withdrawing consent does not affect any other Founding Member benefit.
14. The Official Padelsphere Jersey
Members on an annual plan receive one Official Padelsphere Jersey, described on our site as having a retail value of £45, included in the annual fee at no extra charge.
The jersey is available to collect from the Venue once your cancellation period under clause 10 has expired, which for members joining before opening means from 30 August 2026. You choose your size at checkout. Sizes are subject to availability, and where your chosen size is unavailable we will offer the nearest available size or a suitable alternative.
Designs change each season and are produced in limited runs. We do not guarantee that any particular design will be available or reproduced.
If you cancel your annual membership within the cancellation period, you no longer qualify for the jersey. If you have already received it, you must return it in unused, resaleable condition, or we may deduct its retail value from your refund.
One jersey is included per annual Membership Year. It is not exchangeable for cash or credit.
15. Member benefits and discounts
Booking discounts apply to your own share of the court fee only, not to the whole booking. Every player on court needs their own membership to receive their own discount.
Cafe, bar and pro shop discounts are for the member's own purchases only. They cannot be used on behalf of anyone else, cannot be combined with other offers or promotions, and the pro shop discount does not apply to items already reduced. Alcohol is served subject to our licence, our Challenge 25 policy and the right to refuse service.
Free racket hire is subject to availability and to you returning the racket in the condition it was issued. You are responsible for loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear.
Advance booking windows, included sauna sessions, guest pass allowances and other tier benefits are as set out on our Membership page. Benefits allocated on a monthly or quarterly basis do not roll over into the next period and have no cash value.
We may vary, substitute or withdraw individual benefits where we have good reason, for example where a supplier withdraws, where a facility is closed, or where a benefit is being misused. If a change is significant and to your disadvantage, we will give you 30 days' notice and you may cancel without penalty, with a pro rata refund of any unused annual fee.
16. Guest passes
A guest pass covers your guest's share of the court fee in full. You pay your own share as normal.
- You must be present and playing on the same court.
- Your guest must not already hold a Padelsphere membership.
- Passes are allocated monthly, or quarterly on the Purple tier, do not roll over, and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for cash.
- You are responsible for your guest's conduct and for ensuring they follow our venue rules.
17. Sauna and wellness
Sauna sessions are 30 minutes with a maximum of two people per sauna. All sessions must be booked in advance, online or at reception. Walk-ins are not available because the saunas require 30 to 45 minutes to reach temperature. Towels are not provided.
Included sessions are 2 a month on Purple, 4 a month on Black, and unlimited on Gold. Unlimited means unlimited in number, subject to availability, allocated first come first served, and subject to fair use. We may limit bookings where we reasonably believe the facility is being monopolised. Additional sessions are £3 for members and £5 for non-members.
Sauna slots are personal to you. Each person needs their own booking, and guests book and pay individually.
Health warning. Sauna use is not suitable for everyone. Do not use the sauna if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, or any circulatory or respiratory condition, or if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, without first taking medical advice. You use the sauna at your own risk and must follow the safety notices displayed.
18. Refer a friend
When a member you referred joins and renews into their second month, you both receive one free off-peak game, covering your own share of the court fee. Your friend must name you when they join. The reward is issued once their second payment has cleared, and is forfeited if their membership is cancelled or refunded before then. Rewards expire three months after issue, have no cash value, and we may withdraw the scheme on notice.
19. Bookings, cancellations and no-shows
Court and sauna bookings are made through our booking platform, currently Playtomic, or at reception. Your use of that platform is also subject to the platform provider's own terms and privacy policy, which are between you and them.
Advance booking windows are 7 days on Purple, 10 days on Black and 14 days on Gold. Non-members can book 5 days ahead.
- Cancel a booking at least 12 hours before the start time and you will not be charged, or will receive a full credit if already charged.
- Cancel with less than 12 hours' notice, or fail to attend, and the full fee is payable and is not refundable.
- Where you record three no-shows in any rolling 90 day period, we may restrict your advance booking rights for up to 30 days. We will always tell you before we do this.
Please arrive on time. Play must stop promptly at the end of your slot so the next booking can start. We may reallocate a court where no player has arrived 10 minutes after the start of the slot.
If we have to cancel your booking, for example because of a fault, a closure or an event, we will offer you an alternative slot or a full refund of that booking fee.
20. AI match recording
Our doubles courts are fitted with automated cameras that record matches and generate highlights and statistics. Recording is a feature of playing on those courts and is included at no extra charge.
You should be aware that if you play on a doubles court, you will be recorded. Footage is used to provide the service to the players in that match, and for the operation, safety and security of the Venue. We will not use footage for marketing or publish it publicly without your separate express consent.
You can ask us not to record your match by telling reception before you play, and we will disable recording for that slot where we reasonably can. You can also request access to, or deletion of, footage of you. Full detail on how we handle this is in our Privacy Policy.
Where you share or download footage, you must not use it in a way that harasses, defames or infringes the rights of any other player.
21. Health, fitness and safety
Padel is a physical sport carrying an inherent risk of injury. By joining you confirm that you are in good health and are not aware of any medical reason why you should not take part in physical exercise.
You are responsible for exercising your own judgement about your fitness to play. If you have any doubt, or any medical condition, injury, disability or pregnancy that could be affected, you should take medical advice before playing and tell us about anything we may need to know to keep you safe. If your health changes materially, please tell us.
You must:
- wear appropriate non-marking court footwear and suitable sports clothing,
- warm up properly and play within your capabilities,
- follow all safety signage and any reasonable instruction from our staff, and
- report any accident, injury or damage to a member of staff immediately.
You must not use the Venue while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or while suffering from any infectious or contagious condition.
Nothing in this clause limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
22. Venue rules and conduct
You agree to comply with the venue rules displayed at the Venue and published on our website, which we may update from time to time.
We expect all members to treat staff, other members and guests with respect. The following will be treated as a serious breach of these terms:
- abusive, threatening, violent, discriminatory or harassing behaviour of any kind,
- damage to, or theft of, our property or the property of others,
- bringing alcohol or illegal substances onto the premises,
- coaching for payment at the Venue without our written agreement,
- sharing or lending your membership or access credentials, or
- any conduct that puts the safety of others at risk.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the Venue. Well-behaved assistance dogs are welcome, other animals are not.
23. Suspension and termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your membership immediately, on written notice, if you commit a serious breach of these terms, if you repeatedly breach them after we have warned you, or if your fees remain unpaid under clause 8.
Where we terminate for a serious breach, no refund of fees is due, and any outstanding minimum term commitment remains payable. Where we suspend your membership, we will tell you why, how long we expect it to last and how you can respond. We will act proportionately and will give you a fair opportunity to put your side before terminating, except where the breach is so serious that immediate termination is necessary.
We may also end your membership for any other reason by giving you one month's notice, in which case we will refund the unused balance of your fees pro rata.
24. Changes to the venue and opening hours
We may change our opening hours, facilities, class and league timetables, peak and off-peak periods, and the layout of the Venue. We will give reasonable notice of any significant change.
Parts of the Venue may occasionally be closed or unavailable for maintenance, repair, refurbishment, staff training, tournaments, private events or reasons beyond our control. We will keep any disruption as short as we reasonably can, and will publish planned closures in advance.
Short or occasional closures do not entitle you to a refund. If the Venue, or a facility that is central to your tier, is unavailable for a continuous period of more than 14 days, we will either extend your membership by the period affected or refund you pro rata, at your choice.
We close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and may operate reduced hours on other bank holidays.
25. Your belongings
We do not provide lockers or any secure storage. Anything you bring to the Venue, including bags, rackets, clothing and valuables, stays your responsibility at all times, whether it is left in a changing room, courtside or anywhere else on the premises.
Please do not bring valuables to the Venue, and do not leave belongings unattended. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to your property, except where that loss or damage is caused by our negligence or our breach of these terms.
Items left behind are held for 30 days and then donated or disposed of. Please ask at reception if you have lost something.
26. Our liability to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to services supplied, and under section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
We are not liable for business losses. Membership is supplied for domestic and private use, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
Subject to the paragraphs above, our total liability to you in connection with your membership in any twelve month period is limited to the greater of the total membership fees you paid in that period and £500.
27. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations that is caused by an event outside our reasonable control, including fire, flood, storm, structural failure, loss of power or water, epidemic or pandemic, government restriction, industrial action, or the acts of third parties.
We will tell you as soon as reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the effect. If the event continues for more than 30 days, either of us may cancel your membership, and we will refund the unused balance of your fees pro rata.
28. Your personal data
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law.
We will always send you service messages about your membership, such as payment confirmations, renewal reminders and closure notices, because we need to in order to perform this contract. Marketing emails are separate and are only sent where you have opted in. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, without affecting your membership.
29. Complaints
If something is not right, please tell us. Email [email protected] or speak to a member of staff at the Venue. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to give you a full response within 28 days.
If we cannot resolve it between us, you may be able to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution provider. We will tell you at the point of deadlock whether we are able to use one, and you retain the right to take the matter to court.
30. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. For minor changes, such as clarifications or changes required by law, we will publish the updated version on this page.
For changes that are significant and to your disadvantage, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel your membership without penalty before it takes effect, and we will refund the unused balance of any annual fee pro rata.
The version in force is the one published on this page, with its version number and date shown at the top.
31. General
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we will tell you in writing if we do. Your rights under these terms will not be affected, and if you are unhappy with the transfer you may cancel within 30 days and we will refund the unused balance of your fees pro rata.
You may not transfer your rights or obligations to anyone else without our written consent.
This contract is between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce any of its terms.
Each clause of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any clause is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining clauses remain in full force.
If we delay in enforcing any part of these terms, or do not enforce it at all, that does not mean we have given up our right to do so later.
32. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland you may also bring proceedings in Scotland, and if you live in Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland.
